Bowes Primary School has been awarded Asthma Friendly School status by the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
A special certificate was presented to headteacher Rebecca Moore and pupils, by Cllr Chris Dey and Cllr Andy Milne in recognition, at a celebratory event yesterday.
Bowes Primary is the first school in the borough to be awarded the status under the Council’s Asthma Friendly Schools programme.
Staff at an Asthma Friendly School understand asthma, know how to respond quickly if a child becomes unwell, and ensure children with asthma can participate safely in all aspects of school life.
