Britain to assist Cyprus in view of EU Presidency

Britain is ready to offer technical and any other assistance to the government of Cyprus, ahead of its EU Presidency to begin July 1st, to successfully complete this huge task, British Employment Minister Chris Crayling said Tuesday, after a meeting with Cypriot Minister of Labour and Social Insurance Soteroulla Charalambous.

In statements to the press after the meeting, the Cypriot Minister said they mainly discussed the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.

Grayling said his country looks very much forward to the upcoming Cypriot Presidency, adding that with his Cypriot counterpart they discussed the agenda of the Presidency and particularly the challenges in labor markets.

“To come to Cyprus and share experiences, to work together in meeting these huge challenges is something that I value enormously, we regard our friendship with Cyprus as of very great importance”, he noted.
