A section of Makarios Avenue in Nicosia has been closed following the collapse of scaffolding from a building under renovation.
The closure extends from the Lykavitos Central Police Station to Evagorou Street after debris fell onto the carriageway when part of the renovation scaffolding collapsed, police confirmed.
Traffic has been diverted whilst authorities assess the scene and clear the roadway of fallen materials.
No information was immediately available regarding potential injuries or the cause of the scaffolding failure.
