Businesses in Barnet are being encouraged to take advantage of the Government’s Business Broadband Connection Voucher scheme, which gives grants of up to £3,000 to small and medium-size businesses to cover the cost of upgrading to superfast broadband.
To date over 300 businesses in Barnet, more than any other outer-London borough, have benefitted from the scheme which allows organisations to transform the way they do business.
The offer is due to expire in Autumn 2015 once its allocated national funding has all been used up, which means local firms only have a short amount of time left to benefit.
Councillor Daniel Thomas, Deputy Leader of Barnet Council, said: “It’s increasingly important for businesses to have an online presence as local people and consumers spend more time and money online, and this scheme makes it easier to do this at minimal cost. It’s another example of how we are working to make life easier for small businesses in Barnet.”
Barnet has more registered businesses than any other outer-London borough, and the Business Broadband Scheme is being supported by the council as a part of its wider “Entrepreneurial Barnet” approach.
