We sadly announce that Cypriot Canadian priest Father Charalambos Elles sadly passed away on Tuesday 24th October 2017 in Toronto, Canada.
Father Charalambos Elles served the Greek Orthodox community in Toronto, Canada and also formed a Byzantine school of music.
Father Charalambos Elles was born in the village of Diorios in Cyprus in 1936 and attended the Teachers training College in Nicosia where he qualified as a teacher.
He was ordained a presbyter on May 30, 1979 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Toronto. He served the Metropolis in a number of communities in the most exemplary way.
He leaves behind his wife Kalliope, and four children Kyriacos, Costa, Tryphon and Maria and eight grandchildren.
His son Kyriacos is a former President of the Cypriot Federation of Canada.
The viewing of the ever-memorable Fr. Charalambos will be on Thursday, October 26, at 2:00pm, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Toronto. A Trisagion will also be held on this day at 7:00pm. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, October 27th at 8:30am followed by the funeral at 12:00pm.
