Coca Cola Cup draw in Cyprus

The draw for the Cyprus Coca-Cola Cup quarter-finals sprung up some mouth-watering ties on Thursday with the biggest eye-catcher being the clash between title chasers APOEL and AEL.

The other draws saw AEK Larnaca taking on a rejuvenated Anorthosis Famagusta while John Carver’s Omonia will have it all to do against in-form Apollon Limassol. Apollon are also Cup holders.

The other quarter-final will see second division side Olympiakos Nicosia and Doxa Katokopia lock horns for a historic place in the semi-finals.

League leaders APOEL will face AEL in the big game with the first leg to take place in Nicosia. Thomas Christiansen’s side also have a crunch Europa League tie against Athletic Bilbao during that time.

Pambos Christodoulou’s AEL are also challenging for their first league title since 2012.

The first games will take place on February 17 while other dates that have been reserved for the Cup clashes include February 22, March 8 and March 15.
