A corpse wrapped in black nylon bags and in a badly decomposing state was washed up at Ayios Theodoros beach near Mazotos near Larnaca at 5:25 pm on Thursday, police said.
“All we can say at this point is that the corpse belongs to a man, possibly a foreigner…and that most probably it is a murder case,” a police spokesman also told the Cyprus Weekly.
The body was found by bathers on the beach.
A post mortem examination is scheduled to take place later on Thursday in Larnaca.
