Cows shot in Paphos

Police have launched an investigation after two cows were shot on Thursday.
The incident was reported to the authorities at 2.00pm by their owner – a farmer in the agricultural area near Asproyia village. Police said they arrived at the scene to find one of the cows dead and the other seriously injured. The injured animal was put down by a vet. An autopsy showed that the cows were fired on with a hunting shotgun.
The farmer said his cows had wandered off his property and were grazing nearby when they were shot.
