Chris Lazari, a Cypriot businessman who lives in the UK, will assume the cost for the use of a private jet by President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades, when this is considered necessary.

In a written statement, Lazari says that “taking into account the economic situation of my country and wanting to actively express my support to the efforts of my personal friend President Nikos Anastasiades – who has to travel abroad frequently – I decided to assume the cost for the use of a private airplane, when this is necessary, for example where there is no direct air link with Cyprus. “

Lazari adds that he and President Anastasiades have been friends for decades now and notes that this friendship is the only motive for his decision, within the framework of his desire to actively support President Anastasiades` efforts.

He concludes by noting that all his business activities are in the UK.

According to the book Greek Cypriots Worldwide a directory of Who’s Who Chris Lazari is from the village of Dora and has a blue chip London based property portfolio with a fortune of £1.1 Billion and over 130 buildings and was listed in the Sunday Times Rich List as the 89th richest person in the UK which also makes him the third richest Cypriot in the UK.
