Children from a New Southgate primary school are the stars of the official Sport Relief video – playing young versions of Olympic athletes.
Three youngsters in Years 5 and 6 at Bowes Primary School in Bowes Road play mini-versions of Team GB swimmer Rebecca Adlington, triple jumper Phillips Idowu and gymnast Louis Smith in the JLS single ‘Proud’, which will be released next week to raise money for the charity.
Cypriot girl Stephanie Christodoulou is one of the children from Bowes School in Palmers Green which features in a sequence where she dances in the rain while others run for cover said she wanted to be an actress when she grew up.
She said: “I was amazed when I was picked to play young Rebecca. It was so exciting and I had to get soaking wet four times to film my parts. That was my favourite bit.”
Cash raised from the single will go to projects helping vulnerable people in the UK and abroad, and tens of thousands of people are set to run the Sport Relief mile on March 25 to raise money.
