A delegation from the Federation of Cypriot Organizations in Greece (OKOE) has met this morning in Athens with the President of the House Demetris Syllouris, asking for voting rights to be conferred to Cypriots living in Greece, both for the elections as well as in the event of a popular referendum concerning a Cyprus settlement.
At the meeting, at the margins of Syllouris’ official visit in the Greek capital, those present also discussed developments in Cyprus.
Syllouris thanked the representatives of Cypriot organizations for their work and noted that their requests need to be addressed.
OKOE Deputy President Loizos Loizos said that the organization is fighting at the side of Cypriot people in favor of a settlement.
He also addressed the voting issue, noting that it is a matter of equal treatment for the citizens of the Republic of Cyprus, that will help revert Turkish efforts to alter the composition of Cyprus’ population.
