A retired academic believes he has finally compiled the finest collection of quotations – and it has taken him almost 60 years.
Sofron A Sofron’s studies and lecturing in Europe and America have helped him collate words of wisdom along the way.
The veteran scholar, who now lives in Cyprus, believes his latest collection, Superior Quotations to Educate and Amuse, is the finest to ever be published in English. It is set in chronological order and provided with copious annotations and explanatory notes.
Sofron, who is President Emeritus of the University of Nicosia on his adopted homeland, said: “This is one of the finest collections of important and intelligent quotations in English through the centuries. It can be confidently described as one of the greatest concentrations of wisdom, wit and sensibility ever written or spoken in the English language.”

Since its release at the end of last year Sofron’s latest academic collection peaked at number two in the Amazon education charts.
