Thursday’s draw for the Cyprus Cup quarter-finals has cooked up some mouth-watering ties with the league’s top two sides (AEK and Anorthosis) and a derby between fierce Limassol rivals AEL and Apollon on the cards.
Drawn together at the Cyprus Football Association’s Nicosia HQ, both AEK and Anorthosis met each other in the Cup during the 2013-14 season, Thomas Christiansen’s side going through 4-2 on aggregate.
Apollon and AEL’s hotly anticipated match-up is a repeat of 2012-13 Cup Final.
Apollon lifting the trophy on that occasion after a 2-1 win in extra time, AEL losing their fourth consecutive Cup final appearance.
Nicosia giants APOEL and Omonia have avoided each other with Temuri Ketsbaia’s men facing Aris Limassol and Vladan Milojević’s side up against Pafos FC.
The quarter-final ties will take place on the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th February
