At the same time APOEL Nicosia defeated Aris in Limassol 0-3 and maintained the 2nd place, and Doxa defeated Anagennisi Deryneias 0-1.

The league championship continues on Monday night with Ermis Aradippou taking on Ethnikos Achnas at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium in Larnaca.
Imanon Idiakez’s AEK were the big winners on Sunday after defeating an Anorthosis side that once again fell short and who were left to play most of the match with ten men following the red card to Shehu Abdullahi – who was making his starting debut.
It wasn’t long before AEK took the lead through Ivan Trickovski before Ander Murillo added a second courtesy of a mistake by goalkeeper Jan Koprivec. Vladimir Boljevic and Jose Larena scored late on while Anorthosis managed to score a consolation goal through Airam.
APOEL also gave themselves the perfect lift ahead of their trip to Greece on Thursday to take on Olympiacos in their second Europa League game.

Earlier on Saturday, AEL fought from behind to beat Apollon 2-1 in the big Limassol derby.
Fotis Papoulis had given Apollon an early lead but Marcos Soares levelled proceedings soon after with a powerful strike from outside the area.
The game looked to be heading towards a draw until substitute Mikel Arruabarrena headered home the winner.
In other games over the weekend, Omonia were facing an embarrassing defeat at home to Karmiotissa but staged a late rally to beat the first division newcomers 4-2.
Omonia had been trailing 2-1 after goals from Michal Ordos and Giannis Taralides before a late fight-back turned things around with Matt Derbyshire (who scored twice) and Renato Margca scoring the goals.
Cillian Sheridan had previously equalised in the first half after Ordos had fired the Polemidia club in front.
Despite the win, the final whistle was greeted with jeers from the home supporters as the pressure continues to surround manager John Carver and the club’s technical director Nikos Dabizas.
