Cyprus leaders meet anew on Friday

President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu are meeting Friday morning, in the now defunct Nicosia airport, on 11.30 local time (8.30 GMT), in the framework of UN-led talks for a Cyprus solution.

According to the UN, the two leaders will discuss issues regarding the technical committees, confidence building measures and the way forward, including substance and methodology.

The leaders will meet anew on July 7.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkish troops invaded and occupied its northern third.

President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervish Eroglu are engaged in peace talks, aiming to reunite the country under a federal roof.
