The negotiating process in Cyprus is continuing well, UN Secretary General`s spokesman Stéphane Dujarric has said during a press briefing.
Dujarric was responding to a question whether there is a possibility that the agreement between Turkey and the EU will be reflected positively on the peace process in Cyprus.
“You know, obviously we have to take a look at what the agreement says. The peace process, the negotiating process in Cyprus is continuing well. Obviously this is addressing a whole series of issues and those discussions are ongoing”, he concluded.
Cyprus has been divided since the 1974 Turkish invasion. UN-led peace talks are currently underway to reunite the country under a federal roof.
