Stevenage’s 19-year old striker Michael Thalassitis has been called up to the Cyprus U19 squad for their forthcoming UEFA European U19 Championship campaign in Denmark.
The striker, who has made three appearances for the first team since signing his first professional contract with the club last year, has seen his international career thrive since December 2011.
Following a three day training camp he was called up for two games against Georgia U19s in March 2012 and later made a further two appearances against Estonia U19.
He will now join up with his fellow nationals where Cyprus have been grouped with Greece, Turkey and Denmark and his side’s first fixture is against the hosts on Wednesday 23rd May at 16:30.
