Former Saints boss George Burley has parted company with Cypriot club Apollon Limassol by mutual consent.
Burley, manager at St Mary’s between December 2005 and January 2008, had only been appointed in May of this year.
“On starting with the club it quickly became clear to me that there was a huge amount of work to do to organise the team to make it competitive with a style of play which the club, the directors and the supporters would appreciate,” he said. “Unfortunately, this led to differences of opinion on how best to achieve the common goal and it is as a result of these differences that I am leaving the club.
“ I am, however, pleased to say that all issues between us, including the terms of my departure, have been very amicably resolved.
“It only remains for me to go on record and thank the club and the President for providing me the opportunity to manage Apollon and I wish the club and the supporters every success for the future.”
