Fashionable statement

Time to get out and be your true self with some bold colour fashion statements that reflect how you are feeling or want to feel. Many people have hidden at home in leggings, tracksuits and loungewear for too long now. I know the highlight of the week for many was going to the grocery store, and I’m sure you weren’t dressing up in tiaras and ballgowns or a suit for that occasion! However it doesn’t matter where you go or what you choose to do, make it fashionable and colourful. I have always been one of those people that whether I am training at the gym or outdoors, going to do my groceries, or just staying at home in comfortable loungewear, everything needs to be co-ordinated; it can be a main colour or colours that work well together. I don’t do it for anyone else but me.
Colours reflect our mood and can transform the way we feel, they can take us from a low mood to a higher mood state. So whatever you decide to wear, make it count and don’t look boring and miserable, show off your true self with some zany humour that others will want to radiate from. Shine bright like the sun that makes everyone want to smile, especially yourself.
Not sure how colour works, check out a colour wheel and see what works well together – it will surprise you. It works for ladies and menswear, and there is no need to be afraid of any colour. For example, one can wear the colour navy but it may be bland on its own and going nowhere, for a subtle change adding a wine/burgundy colour tie or shirt to a suit, or add a scarf, shoes/bag accessories to a dress, and it automatically changes the look completely. To give that same navy suit or dress a bold impact, one just needs to change those same accessories to bright pink or lemon and it has a quirky fun twist element. That is just one example, but imagine the same navy suit or dress in brown and then do the same with those exact accessory colours – it transforms those bland colours by a small fraction change and then a larger fraction change.
One doesn’t have to go out and buy new clothes, just work with what you have if you can. Outfits can look new just with a few swaps, from scarves, belts, shoes and boots to hair accessories and jewellery.
Make things look different – a baggy dress or top can be altered swiftly by adding an elastic hair band on one side at the hip or waist area. Use a scarf as a belt, a hair band or neck scarf. Use things creatively; A simple black dress changes with silver or gold accessories, or add a jacket with gold or silver buttons and that’s a different outfit altogether.
Play with a variety of colours, fabrics and textures. Winter and summer fabrics can layer up to keep warm along with the textures and patterns that can add some dimension to the look itself. Two to three colours can work really well if they are on that co-ordinating colour wheel. Don’t worry what others will think, always do things for you, so that when you wear it and look at it, you like the look and it feels energizing for you but a little enigmatic, if you don’t want to be fully read.
You can add some change to hair colour temporarily now, from bright pink and blue to a subtle hint of copper red tones or other simple colours. With spray in colours and chalks, it has never been so easy and they simply wash out straight away.
Nail colour doesn’t have to be one colour either, you can do two tones, coloured patterns or add some sparkles to mix it up a little.
All this colour statement has an impact from the inside and out. A simple colour choice, be it on hair or nails, says so much about how you are feeling at the time of choice and what you want. Others will naturally see what you are saying and be drawn to it, even if not familiar with the psychology of it all.
Here are some examples of colour choices and what they can reflect:
Soft shades of dusky pink tones – in the mood for romance, love and understanding.
Bright orange – reclaiming power back.
Red – confidence boosted power siren.
Brown – in a mellow mood but open to suggestion.
Mauve – desire for opulence and luxury indulgence.
Khaki – in need of a little peace and enjoying my space right now.
Black and white worn together – associated with feeling a little classical chic finesse.

Be who you want to be with a little colour and style that will make you happy.
