On Friday 4th December 2015, Father Spyridon Gavriel and his wife Tasoulla, celebrated 60 years of marriage. They were delighted to receive a card from Her Majesty the Queen congratulating them on their milestone wedding anniversary.
Father Spyridon Gavriel has been a priest at St Michael’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Golders Green since 1988 (27 years). His daughter is Cllr Lisa Rutter, who represents Barnet’s Brunswick Park Ward.
Cllr Rutter was invited as Former Mayor of the Borough and representing the current Mayor, to attend St Michael’s Cathedral in Golders Green on Sunday 8th November 2015, Remembrance Sunday.
Her father was asked to unveil a plaque with all the names of the priests who have served our community since 1965. Father Spyridon is also listed on this plaque as the priest who started in 1988 and is still of course current.
