Three beaches of the south Famagusta region made it into TripAdvisor’s ‘Top 25 Beaches – Europe’ list in the 2106 ‘Travellers’ Choice’ Awards of the travel review website.
Fig Tree Bay beach in Protaras came in the highest at ninth place. Macronissos Beach in Ayia Napa took 17th place, followed by Konnos Bay, which is located between Ayia Napa and Protaras, in 23rd place. The list – which is one in a number of different categories – is based on visitor reviews under the banner ‘The Very Best of Travel Chosen by Millions of Travellers’.
Mayor of Ayia Napa Yiannis Karousos said of the rankings that “all of the three beaches serve as example of genuine natural beauty.”
