The community of Omodos, in Limassol district, was also threatened by the fire, according to a post on X by the spokesperson of the Fire Service, Andreas Kettis.
As he notes, Civil Defense and the Police had proceeded with the evacuation of the community some time ago.
“Both ground and aerial forces are operating in the wider area near the community of Omodos. Reignations continue in various areas”, he stated, noting that the main front, where the fire is expanding, is located to the south.
