A WOULD-BE thief attacked a 79-year-old woman and her domestic helper on Sunday night in Limassol during a burglary that went wrong.
According to police, the suspect, who was wearing sunglasses and a hood, broke into the woman’s house at around 10pm and began rifling around in her bedroom. When she realised what was happening she shouted for help but the thief he hit her in the face. Her domestic helper, who attempted to come to the woman’s aid, was also hit.
The shouts were heard by a next door neighbour who arrived on the scene, causing the thief to flee, only to be arrested by a police officer who lives close by.
