FriendsFest 2017

Friends may have left our screens a depressing 13 years ago, but it’s somehow managed to secure its place as one of our favourite shows of all time; which is why it was utter music to my ears when I heard that Comedy Central UK’s FriendsFest – essentially a celebration of all things Friends – would be touring round the country.

Finishing off an epic twelve week tour of the country, taking in Sheffield, Cardiff, Manchester, Oxfordshire and Essex, Friendsfest finally arrived at Clissold Park in the capital last week, providing fans of the long running sitcom, a perfect chance to celebrate the brilliant show.

Joey and Chandler’s apartment

The event not only treated visitors to the best of the fest from previous years, including Monica’s apartment, Central Perk, Monica’s Moon-Dance Diner, Ross and Rachel’s Vegas Wedding Chapel and ‘recreate the titles’, but this year fans could also visit a full scale set of Joey and Chandler’s apartment complete with corridor leading to Monica’s and take the ultimate throwback photo at the gang’s high school prom.

Presented by The Luna Cinema, visitors immersed themselves in the world made famous by the hugely popular TV show and were able to see a bunch of original props and memorabilia.

Plus, there was a Smelly Cat karaoke, a foosball table, food stalls and a cocktail bar!

It was a fun afternoon and luckily the rain stayed away. Whilst some may think it doesn’t make sense that thousands of Brits would spend £26 on a ticket to attend a tribute to a 90s American television series, when you experience it, it simply does make sense; As Joey says, it was a case of “could we BE any more excited!”
