Olympiakos beat PAOK on Sunday and has climbed to the top of the Super League table alongside Aris, that lost at Panetolikos, and AEK that beat Asteras Tripolis at home.
Therefore the losses of both Thessaloniki teams mean that AEK and Olympiakos have joined Aris at the top and PAOK has dropped to fourth, while Panathinaikos won again and is now within two points from the leaders.
The Reds defeated PAOK 3-2 at Toumba in one of the most dramatic games of the season to date. The visitors led 2-0 with Babis Kostoulas and Ayoub El Kaabi. Baba Rahman pulled one back for PAOK, but Gelson Martins scored Olympiakos’ third before an own goal by David Carmo.
AEK played behind closed doors at the OPAP Arena, but had no problems in beating Asteras 3-0 on Saturday, goals coming from Ehsan Hajisafi, Paolo Fernandes and Levi Garcia.
Panathinaikos defeated 10-man Lamia 1-0 at the Olympic Stadium of Athens thanks to a Tasos Bakasetas freekick.
In other weekend games, Atromitos won 3-2 at Panserraikos, Kallithea snatched a 2-2 draw at OFI Crete and Levadiakos scored its first win, a 3-2 result over Volos.
The league is now taking a break, as the national team is about to face England and Finland for the last couple of games at the UEFA Nations League.
