Greece SuperLeague

All top six teams in the Super League scored victories this weekend, though with a varying degree of difficulty, leaving the top of the table unchanged.

Meanwhile, former national team manager John Van’t Schip is returning to Greece.

Leader Olympiakos had no problems at all against Volos, winning 3-0 in Piraeus on Satur-day. Ayoub El Kaabi, Babis Kostoulas and Gelson Martins were the Reds’ scorers, the Moroccan being the top marksman in the Super League so far with 11 goals.

AEK came from behind to beat 10-man OFI 2-1 in Crete and stay joint second. The Iraklio team led with a Zisis Karahalios screamer, Harold Moukoudi equalized and Anthony Martial gave AEK all three points after a spectacular effort by Levi Garcia.

AEK is on the same level as PAOK, that won comfortably 4-1 at Panserraikos through a Jason Davidson own goal and strikes by Kiril Despodov, Abdul Baba Rahman and Shola Shoretire. Juan Salazar scored the hosts’ consolation.

Panathinaikos kept up the chase of the leaders with an Alexander Jeremejeff goal right at the end of the game with Asteras for a 1-0 road win at Tripoli.

Fifth-placed Aris returned to winning ways, downing visiting Atromitos 2-1 in Thessaloniki with goals from Hugo Mallo and Loren Moron, before Amr Warda pulled one back for the Peristeri team. However, Aris is about to replace its manager Akis Mantzios (following also the team’s mid-week elimination from the Cup by AEK) with Dutch mana-ger Van’t Schip, formerly of Ajax and Greece.

Panetolikos won 1-0 at Lamia on Sunday, via an Andrija Majdevac goal.

On Monday, Athens Kallitheas hosted Levadiakos and it was not a good night, losing to the visit-ors 2-4.

Olympiakos leads the table with 30 points, AEK and PAOK have 27, Panathinaikos 26, Aris 24
