Political forces and the society as a whole have a crucial role towards the new effort aiming at reaching a solution to the Cyprus problem, leaders and representatives of G/c and T/c parties stressed during a meeting they held today at Ledra Palace, under the auspices of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Nicosia.
Today’s theme proposed by the hosting party AKEL was “The role of the political forces and the society towards the new effort for the solution”.
Ambassador of Slovakia Oxana Tomova said reading out the joint communique that “the most important is to stay focus on the goal of solution based on agreed framework. The political parties stressed the need for a sustainable and fair solution of the Cyprus problem as soon as possible. The political parties agreed that will enhanced their efforts for the reunification of Cyprus. Of great importance is the participation of the people to the process for the solution”. When we hopefully reach to a solution it will need the support of the people of both communities in order to be acceptable and viable”.
The next regular meeting of the meeting of the leaders and representatives will be held on Wednesday 24 of June at Ledra Palace.
