Moreover, he will meet with members of the Greek – American community in the framework of the 34th Annual PSEKA Conference, starting its works on Tuesday.
Among the issues that will be addressed during his meetings are the Greek – American bilateral relations, developments in the region and Greece’s geostrategic role, Greek-Turkish relations, the Cyprus problem, the ongoing name talks between Greece and Skopje, and the Western Balkans.
On Wednesday he will meet with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in New York. The negotiations between Greece and FYROM to resolve the name dispute and the Cyprus problem are expected to be the focus of the meeting.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkish troops invaded and occupied 37% of its territory. The latest round of UN-peace talks at the Swiss resort of Crans – Montana ended without an agreement. Talks held under the auspices of the UN aim at reunifying Cyprus under a federal roof.
