Haringey Borough 0 Cheshunt 4

After a run of 4 consecutive defeats in the League, Haringey returned to Coles Park hoping to have a change of fortune, but having to play Cheshunt who hit eight goals away against Heybridge Swifts at the weekend the task seemed to be a very daunting one.
A changed side from the previous game v Phoenix Sports (Dedman, Scott, Aristidou and Mcdonald replacing Fenton, Martelli, Fashanu and Asamoah), Haringey started badly when after 5 minutes a free kick into the area was flicked on and in the ensuing melee the ball was squared back across goal and side footed in by Cheshunt’s Luke Marshall.
Then after 11 minutes, calamity. A Cheshunt through ball was passed back to Harris in the Boro goal who inexplicably picked it up. The ensuing indirect free-kick was laid off to the prolific Jason Hallett (Cheshunt’s hat-trick hero from Saturday), who smashed the ball in giving Harris no chance of redeeming himself .
The rest of the first half settled down, with Boro having most of the play, but missed passes, dogged defending and wayward shooting, left the match at half-time 2-0 to Cheshunt.
The second half started brightly for Boro but again on 56 minutes Boro were the architects of their own misfortune as a misplaced clearance form Dedman was sliced off for a corner and from the resulting kick Hallett scored his second with a glancing header.
On 64 minutes Boro’s misery was completed as a 40 yard free kick landed in the area to the unchallenged Bolle who made it 4-0 .
With the game over Boro continued to plug away but the resolute defending from the well marshalled back four kept the Boro attacks and chances to a minimum .
That is now 1 point from 18 which has rooted Haringey to the foot of the table and results also going against them have made the coming months even harder. On Saturday, Boro travel to Dunstable Town in the FA Trophy and looking for a much improved performance to kick start their season.
HARINGEY BOROUGH: Ashley Harris, Ross Dedman, Macauley White, Jorge Djassi-Sambu, Aaron Scott, Daniel Walker, Daniel Aristidou (Jerome Martellli), Daniel Ailey, Leroy Griffiths, Ishmail Kamara (Mohammed Ghalain), Anthony Macdonald (Dean Fenton)

Borough now face a break from League Football with two Knock out Competition matches to coe. After traveling to Dunstable Town for the 2nd Round FA Trophy game (3pm) , on Tuesday 3rd November Erith Town will be at Coles Park (7.45pm) for a Coventry Scaffolding London Senior Cup 1st Round tie (but if the Dunstable game results in a draw the match will instead be a replay with Dunstable)
