Haringey Borough 4-0 and lose cup tie on penalties

Haringey Borough took the lead courtesy of a Georgios Aresti 35-yard free kick, which swerved
around the wall and flew into the left corner to give the hosts the lead.
The home side quickly doubled their lead on the stroke of halftime when Matthew Young collected
the ball on the halfway line. The winger skipped past a challenge before chopping back onto his left
foot and finding the bottom corner brilliantly.
On the hour mark, Haringey extended their lead further when Derek Asamoah got the wrong side of
Jack Hayes and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
The Borough then put the game to bed as Tilbury got caught trying to play out from the back and
Nightingale was robbed by Matthew Young who had the easy job of walking the ball into the empty
net.
The Dockers still had time to pull back a consolation goal through new signing, Lindell Stewart. The
chance was made from nothing as, substitute, Jamie Reynolds pressed the keeper to win the ball and
square the ball across to Stewart for the winger to emphatically fire home.
The visitors pulled back a second goal in the 87th minute thanks to a fantastic Kieran Jones strike. The
midfielder received the ball on the edge of the area before dancing through three challenges and
picking out the top corner.
But Tilbury fans began to believe in the 88th minute when Macauley Joynes’ run down the line
dragged two defenders out of position allowing Lindell Stewart to burst through the middle. He
played a threaded pass through to Kieran Jones who rolled his effort into the far corner.
The Dockers netted the equaliser 4 minutes into stoppage time as Alfie Fry’s cross was met by Jack
Hayes who nodded the ball into the path of Lewis Clark for the skipper to cannon his strike into the back of the net for the game go to penalties.

A few minutes later, Haringey Borough’s day went from bad to worse as their captain, Jorge Djassi-Sambu,
was given his marching orders as he picked up a second yellow card for a late challenge on Jamie
Reynolds.
The first three penalties from both sides found the net with no issue and Tilbury took a 4-3 lead
when, captain, Lewis Clark’s rocket put the pressure on. Manny Yeboah stepped up and blazed his
spot-kick a mile over the crossbar and handed The Dockers an opportunity to book their place into
the Third Round.
Birthday boy, Sam Bantick was the man for the job as he cooly chipped his penalty over the keeper to
send Tilbury through.
