HARINGEY BOROUGH V BRIMSDOWN
Pre-Season Friendly 3rd August 2016 Coles Park
Landlords (Haringey Borough) hosted their tenants (Brimsdown) at Coles Park for a pre-season friendly and for the third game on the trot four goals were scored. This time though the goals were shared, which on the balance of play a fair one. Haringey didn’t deserve to win and Brimsdown didn’t deserve to lose.
Borough came out of the blocks quicker when after 3 minutes Leon Wilson scored with a right foot shot leaving the keeper with no chance. The only time Nicolae Stinca (Brimsdown’s keeper) missed the ball in the first half.
Chances for both sides were few and when Haringey did hit the target man of the match Stinca performed heroics, including in the space of two minutes 4 very good saves, mid-way through the half.
Five minutes later a defensive lapse allowed Brimsdown’s Mustafa El-Azouzi to equalise.
The second half was one of midfield possession and hardly any goalmouth action until five minutes from the end. Haringey regained the lead through Jorge Djassi Sambu, when he controlled the ball in the penalty area and passed the ball into the net from 6 yards.
Brimsdown had the last word. Theo Brown latched onto another lapse in the Borough defence and scored with nearly the last kick of the game.
