As part of the Danish EU presidency, Denmark is organising, together with the European External Action Service, an informal meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers and an informal meeting of Defence Ministers.
According to the Danish Presidency, these informal meetings take place once every six months. The meeting of the Ministers of Defence is planned on 28 and 29 August. On August 28 the Ministers are invited for a pre-event on defence followed by a social dinner at Frederiksberg Palace.
The informal meeting is planned for the 29 August and will provide an opportunity for a strategic discussion of the EU’s security and defence cooperation, particularly with regard to the EU’s military support to Ukraine and defence readiness.
The meeting of the Foreign Ministers is planned on 29 and 30 August. The format creates an opportunity for more open discussion and reflection on strategic issues related to the EU’s role and position on the global stage, the Danish Presidency says.
