KOPA Football League Round Up

First Division

Tripimeni 3 Omonia 4

What a fantastic game this was Tripimeni got on to a good footing with a goal in the first few minutes from Nathan Scarborough but then they seem to sit back allow Omonia to pile on the pressure resulting in a Tripimeni defender saving off the line from a shot from Styli and a Adem Ali shot smashing against the Tripimeni bar. At the start of the second halfit looked as if Tripimeni were going to hold out until a Rakim header fell at the feet of Adem Ali who shot from the edge of the box to make it 1-1. Tripimeni regained their lead with a goal from Nathan Scarborough giving him a brace. Then it was all end to end action with Spencer Stylianou equalising for Omonia with a header.

It was now Omonia’s turn to take the lead with a fine goal from Adem Ali but then Tripimeni equalised with a goal from Altan Ceylon. This led to an exciting last few minutes but only Luke Kroll could score such a brilliant cracking goal to give the three points to Omonia.

Second Division

Cetinkaya Cinar 2 Komi Kebir 1

A repeat of last weeks score, but this time Cinar were more convincing, taking the lead on 10 minutes when Mehmet Sukri crossed the ball into the box, reaching the oncoming Ade Kelani to make it 1-0.

Komi settled after the goal and deserved their equalizer as the striker Andreas Bryant Economides went past a couple of Cinar defenders and had time to curl the ball past Remzi for 1-1.

The tempo increased when Cinar made a couple of substitions in the last half of the second half with the Komi keeper making some excellent point blank saves.

Cetinkaya Cinar’s winner came in the 77th minute, a marauding run by sub Tuncay who found Tarik Kucuk on the edge of the box. Tarik pulled the ball back and unleashed a great shot for 2-1.

What is it with Maronites they always have to come back again and again this time they were one nil down within ten minutes when Asha scored with Chris Spyrou and it took till just before half time to equalise with Dino Costa in the second half Maronites did have a scare when one of their defenders cleared a shot off the line but then they added another three goals with Franco Tzouvanni, Lewis Barclay and Marcus Archer to lift themselves into second place.
