Last chance to nominate for the Haringey Celebrating Sport Awards

There are just a few days left to get your nominations in for the Haringey Celebrating Sport Awards. Nominations close at 9am on Monday 19 October.

Haringey Council is calling on local residents, businesses, community organisations, sports clubs and schools to nominate inspiring athletes, coaches and volunteers from the borough. We want to hear who you think should be honoured for contributing to Haringey’s sporting excellence.

Now in their ninth year, the Haringey Celebrating Sports Awards celebrate the achievements of sporting heroes in the borough. Winners will be announced at a special gala event on Wednesday 18 November.

Awards are up for grabs in 10 categories, including Coach of the year, Volunteer of the year and Sports Performer of the Year.

Last year’s winners included Sports Performer Jeamie Tshikeva – who became English Super Heavy Weight Champion in the boxing Development League within months of taking up the sport – and eight-year-old Amariah Williams, who took home the Disabled Sports Performer award in recognition of his determination to not let his epilepsy and ADHD get in the way of his commitment to a host of different sports.

The Haringey Celebrating Sports Awards are supported by a range of partners including Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, Fusion Lifestyle, Everyone’s a Winner, Haringey’s Sport Development Trust and Tottenham Grammar School Foundation.

To make a nomination and find out more, visit our Celebrating Sport page or call Haringey Sports Development coach Burk Gravis on 020 8365 7470 or email: mail@haringeysportsdevelopment.co.uk.
