Fire raging in Limassol district village of Alassa since 5pm and the fire brigade are working hard trying to control the blaze.
It has been reported that the blaze appears to have been set alight by arsonists and is the second fire to have broken out in the area within the last few days. This area was covered in dry straw and bushes.
The blaze has been raging on two fronts around 700m from each other and in an area that was particularly difficult to reach.
Four fire trucks and two helicopters are on the scene battling the fire.
