Many people ask me if I wear make up, every day and the answer is yes; just a little during the day and of course a little bit more so when going out.
A little make up is great for the mind, as well as often being aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The idea of wearing just enough make up to enhance natural features in order to give a natural and healthy glow, without an overload for everyday, can be sufficient in order to make one look and feel better. Yes if you look good, you feel good and if you feel good, you look good. It works in cycle as it radiates that inner glow and beam of confidence. It can help by making you feel more confident, this helps with mind over matters, often in making confident positive decisions in everyday life. It works for many by simply acting as part in raising confidence levels.
So a little make up can go a long way with our every day work and decisions. Many people have imperfections or flaws on the skin, be it light blemishes, marks or deep scaring. A simple quick 5-10 minute daily routine is all that is needed to work some magic – it is not an all out glamour make-up routine.
This is all that is required….
Step one – Tilting the head forward slightly and where the light just hits underneath the eye area and creates a shadow or dark area, apply a dab of concealer or light foundation mineral make up. Apply a little concealer onto any other shaded areas.
Step 2 – Apply a little mineral foundation cream that closely resembles your own skin tone to any blemished areas with a brush or sponge. Do not apply all over the entire face unless severely blemished. Dab the foundation over the areas you also applied concealer to.
Using the other end of the sponge, make quick small comma or apostrophe strokes to gently blend make up over those areas. Some good products to try which contain both concealer and foundation colour in one compact set, are Sheercover, Bare Minerals or Revlon Colourstay.
Step 3 – Apply loose mineral powder that closely resembles your skin tone, all over the entire face area, using light small circular brushstroke movements. Some products that give good natural cover are Sheercover, Bare Minerals, Avon Mineral powder.
Step 4 – Apply a little eyeliner to the outer corners of the eyes and gradually working to a very thin line on the inner half. You can use liquid, tip pen or pencil form of your choice. Gently smudging softens the look for day time. A soft black or brown works well for the day. Avon or Rimmel pencils are great for their soft gliding texture without scratching.
Step 5 – Using a lip liner that is a shade slightly darker than your lip, work around the lip line to define and balance out the natural lip line area. Gosh and L’Oreal lip liner pens are great for lining, stay put and define well. Follow with a nude lip colour that resembles your natural lip colour and fill inside the lined area, blending well. There are many great nude shades, matt and glossy or that come as a set and work combined which are long lasting. Max Factor is great for this.
Step 6 – Apply a little eyebrow mascara and eyelash mascara and hey presto! Magic makeover in less than 10 minutes!
