Police were called at 0730hrs this morning, 28 June, to reports of a person having fallen from the Olympic Stadium, Stratford.
Officers at the scene found a 44-year-old man unresponsive.
London Ambulance Service attended. The man was pronounced dead shortly before 0800hrs.
Officers believe they know the identity of the man but await formal identification.
Enquiries are underway to trace next of kin.
At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained.
