The only Indian in the Australian Open singles draw – Yuki Bhambri takes on Marcos Baghdatis on Court 8 with the match.
Marcos Baghdatis has a good record at the Australian Open.
He was the runner-up at the 2006 Australian Open and a semifinalist at the 2006 Wimbledon Championships and reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 8 in August 2006
Should Marcos advance, he will face either 30th seed Andrey Rublev or Spanish veteran David Ferrer. World No. 3 Grigor Dimitrov potentially awaits in the third round, with home hope Nick Kyrgios and 2008 finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga also in his quarter of the draw.
Marcos notched a pair of victories at the exhibition events in Adelaide and Kooyong in preparation for the first Grand Slam of the year. He defeated Frances Tiafoe on Tuesday and Kevin Anderson on Wednesday and will look to carry the momentum to Melbourne.
