Hollywood actor and director Mel Gibson arrived on Saturday at the Orthodox Christian monastic community of Mount Athos in northern Greece, where he is expected to stay for the next few days.
The 69-year-old will be residing at the Serbian Hilandar Monastery
taking part in daily liturgical services, according to several religious websites.
According to them, the actor reportedly told the monks that he has “never felt such a strong connection with God anywhere as here.”
No other details are known about his stay in Mount Athos.
