Title: MEP visits leading BNI chapter
BNI Vision, London North East, was visited by London MEP on the morning of Friday, the 2nd of May.
The Vision chapter of BNI is a group of local professional businesses based in Enfield, North London and is part of the leading global Networking and Training organisation known as Business Networking International (BNI). The Vision team are proud to be recognised as the current number one chapter in the London North East Region and the second best out of all 587 chapters across the UK and Ireland.
Members were delighted to meet Marina, who as our guest speaker spoke about the importance of small and medium enterprises to our economy and the benefit that BNI adds to this. BNI Vision provides a structured, supportive, business environment where local business people can get together to pass qualified referrals, learn valuable personal and marketing skills and develop strong personal relationships that lead to trust and consequent generation of significant business for each other.
The current Chapter Director, Nick Yiannoullou, stated that, “Marina is used to attending high ranking events, yet she left Vision buzzing. She was so impressed with Vision that she has already contacted a number of our members for their services.”
Marina said “As a former business woman I know how difficult it is to run an SME, but they are the life blood of our economy. The EU has a lot to offer our economy, such as the open markets and funding, however on the negative side it is also over bureaucratic, legislates too much, and legislation is often not flexible enough for SMEs.
“BNI Vision’s strength is in the fact that its SMEs support each other and work together to increase their markets. It’s an excellent example of SMEs leading the way.”
BNI Vision is also approaching its 10 year anniversary later in 2014 and now finds itself as the second best chapter in the country. Last week alone, BNI Vision generated £155,312 worth of confirmed business amongst its current 55 members. Over the last 12 months to March 2014 the group also contributed to the local economy a value of £2,544,529 worth of business! Our target for the next 12 months is to reach £3.1 million.
