Musician (Michael) George Georgiou sadly passed away on Monday 16th May 2016, at the age of 54, after a long battle with leukaemia.
He leaves behind his wife Martha, 5 children: Christina, Androulla, Michael, Rosie and Kyriacos, a well known Greek singer who was a supporting artist to Anna Vissi at last year’s Cypriot Wine Festival & Business Expo, 7 grandchildren: Georgia, Nicholas, Martha, George, Georgia, Angelos and Melanie, his parents Tina and Michael Georgiou and many relatives and friends.
George was born in London on 21.08.1961 of Italian and Greek Cypriot descent. From 1980- 2000 he owned businesses specialising in children’s wear. His passion for music and the bouzouki later led him to open his own restaurant, the Hellenic Greek Taverna in Luton.
George was loved by so many and will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His funeral will take place on Wednesday 1st June 2016 at 10.00am at the Greek Orthodox Church of St Demetrios, Town Road/Logan Road, London N9 0LP and the burial at Edmonton Cemetery, Church Street N9.
There will be a donation box for Macmillan Nurses. The wake will take place at the family home.
