Multiple arrests were made during a recent set of public order patrols carried out by the Welwyn Hatfield Response Team.
Although response officers are tasked with dealing with 999 emergencies, they also conduct general police patrols between calls.
Across the end of August, the following arrests were made:
A 47 year old man from Welwyn Garden City was arrested on suspicion of two counts of assaulting a paramedic and two public order offences in the town centreA 37 year old man, of no fixed abode, was arresting in connection with failing to appear at courtA 19 year old man from Hatfield was arrested on suspicion of affray in Hatfield town centre and weapons offencesA 20 year old man from Hatfield was arrested on suspicion of affray in Hatfield town centre and weapons offencesA 47 year old woman from Hatfield was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and violence to secure entryA 22 year old man from Hatfield was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and theft (of cash)
One man was also arrested on suspicion of stalking whilst three other men were arrested in connection with domestic abuse.
The following person was also arrested and has since been charged:
Desmond Asare, aged 19, of Errington Close, Hatfield, has been charged with assaulting a police officer in Sunnybank Road, Potters Bar, on 28 March 2026
PC Jack Andrews said: “During these public order deployments, officers arrested eleven individuals and removed dangerous weapons from circulation. We also recovered suspected stolen cash and we safeguarded vulnerable victims.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to colleagues across other departments for their assistance with arrest enquiries, identifying suspects, and supporting the investigations in custody.
“I hope the results of these patrols reassure residents that officers are proactively policing our towns, identifying suspects and taking action to keep people safe.”
