Nicosia man was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment on Friday after raping two children and indecently assaulting another six.
The 44-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to charges relating to rape and indecent assault of minors at the Nicosia Criminal Court. According to state prosecutors, the man would lure children in his neighbourhood to his house by offering to show them his four puppies. The court had heard how the man had raped two girls aged six and eight and further indecently assaulted another six children aged between eight and 11.
The three-judge panel of Michalis Christodoulou, Alekos Panagiotou and Stavros Stavrou in their ruling noted that “these kinds of sick and dangerous sexual orientations do not only harm innocent victims but also their families and society in general.”
