TWO individuals assaulted a Nicosia supermarket owner and robbed him of around €17,000, police said yesterday.
The 31-year-old owner had just closed his business in the Nicosia suburb of Latsia on Friday night when he was assaulted on the way to his car by the two hooded robbers who stole the day’s proceeds.
The owner was treated in hospital for injuries to the head and face.
Police said they were trying to track down the perpetrators based on information given by the 31-year-old.
Police spokesman Andreas Angelides made a general plea to the public to provide any information they have on crime.
