Omonoia Nicosia secured a 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo at the GSP Stadium, in Nicosia, on Wednesday evening, with Jure Balkovec scoring in the 88th minute in the opening round of the League Phase of Europa League.
The Slovenian defender struck late with a shot to give the Cypriot team a historic win over the Spanish team.
The win gives Omonoia its first three points in the League Phase.
