Police in Limassol reported that just after midnight a man had been attacked in the village of Koilani. Members of the police force attended the scene and arrested a 64-year-old pensioner on suspicion of assaulting a 38-year-old man .
Officers discovered the victim at the scene with injuries to his head and abrasions to his hands. The victim claims that he was attacked by two hooded men.
The victim had managed to recognise one of his attackers as being a 64-year-old man. The injured victim was taken to Limassol General hospital where he was treated with nine stitches to his head.
Police have held the 64-year-old man for questioning. The Police investigation continues.
