London’s East End bakery Percy Ingle to close all stores permanently – reports
Percy Ingle, a famous London’s East End bakery chain, is closing down all its 48 stores, according to reports in the local press.
Percy Ingle, which was founded in Hackney in 1954 and was popular with locals, had reopened its stores last week, after closing them down due to the lockdown.
The family-run business had recently undergone a rebranding, changing its name to Ingles, and revamped its stores in a bid to appeal to a new type of customers, as the areas where its shops are located have undergone a heavy gentrification in recent years.
