Rumours were rife this week that Princess Beatrice introduced her single older cousin Harry to 19-year-old Maria-Olympia, Princess of Greece.
An Australian report said Harry, 31, was “head over heels” for the stunning blonde and that they were even planning a romantic rendezvous in Switzerland.
Maria-Olympia is the London-educated daughter of Crown Princess Marie-Chantal and Crown Prince Pavlos. The couple moved to London from New York when Maria-Olympia was seven so that their children could grow up near Pavlos’ parents, former Greek monarch King Constantine and Queen Anne Marie.
The move also had the happy result of bringing her closer to godfather Prince Charles. Constantine is Charles’ second cousin and the godfather of Prince William.
Princess Maria-Olympia studied drama, history of art and graphics and photography. She is the eldest of five children and the only girl in the family; her brothers are 16-year-old Prince Constantine-Alexios, 14-year-old Prince Achileas-Andreas, ten-year-old Prince Odysseas-Kimon, and six-year-old Prince Aristidis-Stavros.
Maria-Olympia is a regular on the front rows at fashion week and is making quite the splash on the European social scene – but according to a source close to Prince Harry, she’s yet to make an impression on him.
Palace sources have laughed off reports Harry and the stunning blonde are an item.
There’s no doubt the Prince and Maria-Olympia would know each other though, given that they’re distant cousins.
If the pair were to be romantically involved, they wouldn’t be the first royal cousins to get together; Queen Elizabeth and her hubby Prince Philip are also second cousins once removed – they both call the late Queen Victoria their great-great grandmother.
Prince Harry has been single since splitting from British socialite Cressida Bonas in 2014, so it’s no wonder everyone’s so keen to have him settle down!
