The government is looking into all facts concerning the harassment of the Norwegian seismic ship Princess by the Turkish navy, off Cyprus’ shores, Deputy Government Spokesman Victoras Papadopoulos has said.
He also said that a statement will be issued on the matter later today.
The Spokesman’s comments were in response to an announcement issued by the Turkish armed forces according to which the ship, which conducted research east of Cyprus, was ordered by the Turkish frigate “Giresun” to steer away from what Ankara describes as “Turkish waters.”
The incident happened on Saturday. The Turkish frigate was in the area in the framework of Mediterranean Shield Operation.
