Larnaca police believe shots fired on Saturday night injuring two people came from a nearby house that was celebrating a wedding in Ormideia, Larnaca.
A young woman aged 20 sustained injuries in the face while a 61-year-old man was wounded in the chest. Both were sitting on the porch of a nearby house when the shots were fired. They were rushed to Larnaca General Hospital to receive first aid care and were later released.
According to Police, the shots were fired using a hunting rifle possibly owned by a relative of the happy couple during their wedding reception. About 20 gun cartridges were collected from the ground in an area from the Square by the church until Vattenas area near the Ormideia road exit.
Reports point to a specific car that was seen heading toward the wedding reception venue, where the shots seem to have originated.
Larnaca Police are investigating the case.
